It takes a talented and dedicated Cougar to become a successful Orientation Counselor "OC". The challenges of the position are numerous, but the rewards are great. Orientation counselors gain valuable experience in public speaking, group work, presentation and leadership skills. OCs also have a unique opportunity to connect to Washington State University as a representative of the student body and a link to faculty and staff.
Working as an OC is an extremely rewarding position. Many OCs form long-lasting friendships during their tenure, both with students and staff. Almost unanimously, OCs cite helping students and parents as one of the most gratifying experiences of their college careers.
